Forecast 2018: Raging Beauty Trends We Predict for the Year
The positions of the planets might help predict your horoscope but when it comes to beauty trends, all we have to go by are current trends, looks from the latest runway shows and experts opinions.
Here are some of our predictions on beauty trends that we see being huge next year (2018).
At the New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 collection, models were seen sporting liners that ranged from architectural to extremely out there. Inspired by the 50s, 60s with a slight 90s twist, the designs vary based on eye shape. From bold cat eyes to winged liners on both the top and bottom lash lines, we think experimenting with eyeliners is just going to get bolder and more extreme.
All that Glitters
The love for shimmer is still going strong and we think it’s only going to grow in 2018. Bronzed, glossy lids can be achieved with less shadow and more dabbing of clear lip gloss around lashline and brow to get that wet look. We see glitter being used on lips, cheekbones and everywhere else.
2017 made us fall in love with dewy complexion and that is sure to continue into the New year. Look for liquid foundations that melt into the skin, defining features and giving an almost wet finish. You can also get that glow by plumping the skin naturally so that it reflects light and looks more natural. This can be done by cleansing the skin and then using moisturizers and concealers that give a more clean, healthy look.
Hair Clips are Back
Hair accessories are making a comeback; from scarves wrapped around ponytails to 60s style hair bands – we’ll be seeing it all. One of the most popular hair accessories is going to be the hair clip – in all shapes and sizes.
If you’ve always wanted to chop your hair off then now is the time. We see pixie cuts getting more and more popular on international runways and suspect it’s going to catch on.
We see matte fading away as glossy lips making their way back. From cherry-stained lips to nude lips with a coating of gloss, the lipstick-meets-balm look and feel will probably be big in the coming months.
These predictions could be bang on or be way off. If you have any of your own fashion or beauty forecasts for 2018, let us know.
