Lips Trippin’: Biggest Lip Trends of 2018
Feeling gloomy because the year went by too soon? Well if you’re going to pout about it – might as well make that pout a good one. Here are the lip trends of 2018 so if you’ve missed any, you can ‘make up’ (get it?) for it now.
Smudged and Imperfect
Faded lipstick that’s soft and lighter at the right places, like as if you’ve had it on all day – looks cool and effortless. This faded, worn-out look looks best with colours that as close to the natural colour of the lips. Using a lip tint or lip stain is the best way to get this look.
Highlight the Cupid’s
By applying highlighter to the cupid’s bow, lips appear fuller and juicier. You can simply tap the cupid’s bow with glitter lipstick or eyeliner to get the look.
Oxblood Red Lipstick
This one is great because it’s ideal for winter which is just around the corner. You don’t have to be a cast member of Twilight to pull off this shade – it goes with just about any skin tone. The same for violet lipstick which is also big this year.
Paint Box Bright Colours
Bold, bright colours like pumpkin orange and fuchsia pink are great for warm skin tones. You can wear it matte or pair it with a glossy finish.
Lipsticks with a little extra gloss are in. They are not too sticky and just give your lips a little shine. Liquid lipsticks have also been big this year.
The obsession with all things dewy has moved to the lips. Nude (or no) lipstick paired with clear gloss gives your lips a healthy and pretty sheen.
