Your house might look exactly how you (or your parents) wanted, 10 years ago. But now you find yourself looking at architecture websites or friend’s new homes and wishing you had things a little different. If you’re planning on giving your home a makeover, here are some renovation ideas to inspire you:

Wood Cladding

Wooden wall panelling is a brilliant way to add character to a room. It can be used to add sophistication to a room, or give it the feeling of a cosy cabin. You can even have just have wood cladding on one wall of your bedroom to keep things simple, yet stylish.

Consider Wainscoting

Add a vintage vibe to your home with some wainscoting. You don’t have to do it the walls of an entire room, even just 3/4th of the wall or just around certain places like entryways, hallways or stairs. It is also a great way to give your dining room a warm, welcoming look.

Storage Space

Most renovations are done to increase storage space. You can do this by creating more floor space and designing built-in bookshelves in the living room, stairs with built-in storage, a pull-out pantry in the kitchen or some shelves along the kitchen island.

Update the Bathroom

Change the sinks, faucets, showers, etc. in the kitchen with more contemporary pieces. Add storage space under the sink or add some shelves on the wall. Replace outdated lighting fixtures for something modern and stylish.

Add a Study Area/Home Office

If you want a home office but don’t have a whole room for it, there are other ways to make it possible. You can have a folding table in one corner of the living room or dining room or create a nook in the bedroom.
