Screen time before bed
The artificial, bright lights of the TV, computer and smart phone disrupt the melatonin levels. So next time you want to Netflix before bed or browse through social media platforms or even text your friends, remember that it means you’re delaying or shortening your sleep. Doctors recommend having a technology-free period before bed every night and maybe switch the phone off while you sleep.

Our hands are constantly touching things that are not always clean. Sitting too much
Sitting for prolonged periods of time like long drives or at our work desk, can be extremely harmful. Studies have linked excessive sitting with several medical condition like obesity, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, high blood pressure and more. Taking a break form your chair or standing when you watch TV can make a lot of difference.
Spending too much time indoors
Not getting enough sunlight and vitamin D can lead to depressive symptoms. Psychotherapists advice patients to spend a little time outdoors as even light walking can improve mental health and concentration.
Using too much plastic
When food is stored in plastic containers, chemical substances like phthalate and bisphenol can seep into the food and slowly damage our endocrine system. It is a better idea to store food in stainless steel, glass or ceramic containers.
Brushing teeth too soon after eating
Dentists tell patients to wait at least 30 minutes before brushing their teeth after a meal. Some food and beverages are acidic in nature and when we brush just after consuming them, we push the acid deeper into our enamel. This can affect the teeth and lead to sensitivity.
You might chew gum for fresh breath, to beat stress or to look cool. But chewing too much gum puts a lot of pressure on your jaw and can cause stiffness and pain. Besides, if you swallow too much air, you can have gas or even a tummy upset.
